Resolvins are specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs) derived from omega-3 fatty acids that play a critical role in resolving inflammation and restoring tissues to state of health after an immune response. Their chronic inflammatory conditions highlights their importance maintaining balance between effective response the resolution prevent tissue damage. Periodontal disease is condition affecting surrounding teeth, leading gum damage bone loss. Chronic periodontal can exacerbate systemic influence other conditions, such as diabetes. There bidirectional relationship diabetes disease, both characterized by oral complications. This narrative review aims synthesize current knowledge on how resolvins pathways repair mechanism patients with type 2 Furthermore, this serves foundation for developing targeted therapeutic strategies, addressing pressing need treatments consider outcomes.

ABSTRACT Objective The aim of this study is to explore the mechanism benzylurea in inflammatory injury human periodontal ligament fibroblasts (hPDLFs). Methods An inflammation model hPDLFs was established using LPS. Nuclear transport nuclear transcription factor‐κB (NF‐κB), secretion cytokines, and morphology distribution F‐actin were determined. Mitochondrial function assessed by measuring mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), permeability transition pore (mPTP), reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. expression carrier homolog 2 (MTCH2) Cytochrome b5 type B (CYB5B) detected. Results Benzylurea alleviated effects lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on proliferation apoptosis hPDLFs. It reduced release cytokines inhibited NF‐κB translocation. improved regulating MMP preventing excessive mPTP opening. Furthermore, LPS elevated MTCH2 CYB5B However, these can be benzylurea. altered directly affected expression, activation translocation NF‐κB. Conclusion may act as an effector MTCH2, with enhancing protecting from LPS‐induced through MTCH2.

To investigate the difference of salivary microbiome composition in type 2 diabetes mellitus with different stages periodontitis. 105 patients diagnosed T2DM were divided into four groups according to Stage periodontitis. The 16 S rDNA hypervariable regions V3-V4 amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) after saliva DNA was extracted. The library constructed and Illumina sequencing performed. results compared silva 138 database, studied species analysis, principal coordinate correlation analysis. There significant differences alpha diversity among groups, but no Beta diversity. At phylum level, there one differential bacteria—Firmicutes, while at genus bacteria. Spearman's analysis identified correlations between periodontal health indices (PLI, SBI, AL PD) abundances over 13 genera, including Streptococcus, Gemella Capnocytophaga, etc. Additionally, duration exhibited a positive PD. are microbial is some microbiota inflammation.

Periodontitis, an oral disease initiated by a dysbiotic dental biofilm, has unclear response to photobiomodulation (PBM) as adjunctive treatment. This study investigates the effects of PBM on reactive oxygen species (ROS), apoptosis, oxidative stress, and inflammatory markers in periodontitis model using C57BL/6 mice, divided into four groups: control (C), + (C PBM), (P), (P PBM). An infrared diode laser (808 nm, 133.3 J/cm2, 4 J/session) was applied for three days. reduced superoxide anions, hydrogen peroxide, apoptosis gingival cells, while decreasing systemic inflammation protein oxidation. In P group, pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6 IL-12p70 decreased, whereas IL-10 increased, suggesting improvements stress profiles.
