To
enhance
the
treatment
of
tumors
that
are
resistant
to
radio-
and
chemotherapy
while
minimizing
side
effects
radiochemotherapy,
researchers

seeking
new
active
compounds
for
use
in
combination
with
radiotherapy.
Therefore,
aim
our
study
was
examine
cytotoxic
radiosensitizing
an
extract
from
St.
John’s
Wort
(Hypericum
perforatum),
referred
as
HP01,
on
human
epithelial
tumor
cells
vitro.

using

treatment,

repair
radiation-induced
DSBs
not
affected.
Cell
analysis
revealed
addition
enhanced
G2/M
arrest
cells.
Overall,
only
showed
also
demonstrated
first
time.
We
conclude
HP01-induced
accumulation
may
be
main
rationale
drug-induced
radiosensitivity.
It
is
therefore
promising
candidate
combined
therapy

warrants
further
investigation.
