(1) Background: Endophytic fungi play an important role in plant growth and stress resistance. The presence of a special fungal taxon such as the dark septate endophytic (DSE) alpine environments is particularly for resistance to environmental stresses. However, composition root different between host plants has not been well studied. (2) Results: A total 408 culturable were isolated from roots Saussurea involucrata Rhodiola crenulata which collected 5 plots Tianshan Karakoram Mountains Xinjiang region, belonging 91 species, 54 genera, 31 families, 3 phyla based on morphological characteristics molecular sequence. Among them, DSE dominant group, accounting 52.94%, Leptodontidium orchidicola was species. In addition, we also compared diversity sites, with emphasis taxa DSE. (3) Conclusions: cultural are significantly two medicinal species across various locations. Some showed preferences or environment. resources, especially DSE, very rich plants, indicating that these may crucial ecological adaptation harsh environments.

Marine microplastics (MPs) represent a novel ecological niche, populated by fungi with high potential for pharmaceutical discovery. This study explores the bioactivity of fungal strains isolated from MPs in Mediterranean sediments, focusing on their osteogenic and antiviral activities. Crude extracts prepared via solid-state submerged-state fermentation were tested effects extracellular matrix mineralization vitro bone growth zebrafish larvae, activity against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) herpes simplex type 2 (HSV-2). Several exhibited significant mineralogenic activities, Aspergillus jensenii MUT6581 Cladosporium halotolerans MUT6558 being most performing ones. Antiviral assays identified A. Bjerkandera adusta MUT6589 as effective RSV HSV-2 at different extents, no cytotoxic effect. Although chemical profiling extract led to isolation decumbenones A B, they did not reproduce observed bioactivities, suggesting involvement other active compounds or synergistic effects. This study explores the relationship between filamentous fungi and dental caries in isolated indigenous communities Siltepec, Chiapas, Mexico. A total of 37 oral swabs were collected, with 22 participants harboring fungi, primarily from genus Cladosporium. Statistical analysis using Student’s t-test Mann–Whitney U test revealed a significant reduction extensive fully cavitated (p < 0.0001) individuals while those without exhibited higher rates decay. Participants had prevalence healthy teeth incipient caries. The findings suggest that traditional maize-based diets, particularly fermented beverages like pozol, may promote growth beneficial microbiome, offering protective effect against through microbial competition alteration environment. These results underline need for further research into long-term impact diets on health potential use natural substances, such as probiotics plant-based antimicrobials, to maintain homeostasis prevent

Introduction The marine environment is extremely complex and exerts strong evolutionary pressure often leading to the appearance of microbial strains with new metabolic competencies. Microorganisms in ecosystems are still largely unknown should be explored conserved for biodiversity preservation, possible ecosystem restoring, other applications. Biodiversity conservation become a basic ecological strategy particular significance relation global change. In this context, present research aimed at exploring culturable mycobiota associated jellyfish Pelagia noctiluca, never studied before. addition, isolated were tested potential application (antimicrobial activity presence genes related production secondary metabolites). Methods Five jellyfishes collected coastal area Giglio Island processed isolate epizoic fungi. identified using polyphasic approach (morphological, physiological, molecular) their salt preference was also investigated. antifungal antibacterial each strain agar plug diffusion test. some key main pathways metabolites fungi, polyketide synthases (PKSs), non-ribosomal peptide synthase (NRPSs), assessed. Results A total 164 isolates obtained; after dereplication, 40 morphotypes, 23 species identified. phylogenetic analyses suggested taxa belonging Pleosporales: two genera species, Tamaricicola . detected showed relatively high diversity, if compared fungal communities. All fungi as confirmed by marked euryhalinism. PKSs NRPSs, four nine strains, respectively. antimicrobial revealed 70% including taxa. abundance bioactive may involvement host defense strategies.
