Given
the
limited
evidence,
there
is
no
conclusive
proof
of
neurocognitive
benefits
bovine
milk
fat
globule
membrane
supplementation
in
infant
formula.
This
study
evaluates
formula,
comparing
it
to
standard
formula
and
assessing
its
noninferiority
breast
milk.
Data
were
sourced
from
studies
published
between
January
2000
March
2024
PubMed,
Cochrane
Library,
Web
Science,
Embase.
Eight
randomized
controlled
trials
involving
1352
healthy
term
neonates,
infants,
children
up
2
years
old
included.
Bovine
was
significantly
associated
with
improved
cognitive
development
(mean
difference:
3.29,
95%
CI:
1.65
4.93,
p
<
0.001)
demonstrated
minimal
heterogeneity
(I2
=
0%,
0.564).
It
showed
significant
improvement
executive
function
but
not
language,
motor,
or
social-emotional
development.

Brush
border
membrane
(BBM)
enzymes
greatly
affect
the
bioaccessibility
and
bioavailability
of
food
nutrients.
Despite
their
physiological
importance,
a
step
simulating
final
stage
intestinal
digestion
has
not
yet
been
included
in
harmonized
protocols
for
vitro
digestion,
primarily
due
to
challenges
replicating
dynamics
degradation.
Herein,
we
propose
an
advancement
toward
more
physiologically
relevant
method,
complementing
static
gastric-duodenal
INFOGEST
model
with
missing
small
phase.
BBM
hydrolase
activity,
incubation
time,
at
pH
7.2
were
established
reproduce
conditions.
Skim
milk
powder,
as
protein
food,
was
subjected
digestion.
Immediately
after
duodenal
phase,
digesta
supplemented
vesicles
purified
from
pig
jejunum.
To
comply
dynamic
nature
balance
spontaneous
inactivation
hydrolases,
supplements
added
every
two
hours
throughout
6
h
time.
Peptide
degradation
monitored
each
by
amino
acid
analysis,
free
α-amino
group
assay,
HPLC,
LC-MS/MS.
Hydrolysis
peptidases
led
significant
increase
acids,
reflecting
known
level
adsorption
(>90
%)
humans
eating
proteins.
LC-MS/MS
analysis
demonstrated
that
hydrolases
erode
progressively
peptides
released
gastro-duodenal
processing
up
stable
sequence
motifs.
The
approach
described
is
particularly
when
endpoint
identifying
peptide
sequences
cannot
be
further
hydrolysed
digestive
or
determine
bio-accessibility.
