Inflammatory
bowel
disease
(IBD)
is
a
chronic
intestinal
inflammatory
condition
that
may
progress
to
colorectal
cancer
(CRC),
presenting
significant
challenges
global
health.
With
shifts
in
lifestyle,
the
incidence
of
both
conditions
continues
rise,
underscoring
urgent
need
for
effective
treatments.
While
traditional
therapies
can
be
effective,
their
high
recurrence
rates
and
associated
adverse
reactions
limit
broader
application.
Luteolin,
flavonoid
derived
from
natural
plants,
has
emerged
as
promising
focus
IBD
CRC
research
due
its
multi-target
therapeutic
potential.
This
article
reviews
molecular
mechanisms
signaling
pathways
through
which
luteolin
regulates
immune
cell
differentiation,
mitigates
inflammation
oxidative
stress,
modulates
gut
microbiota,
restores
mucosal
barrier
function
IBD.
In
context
CRC,
demonstrates
anti-tumor
effects
by
inhibiting
proliferation,
inducing
apoptosis,
suppressing
migration
invasion.
Notably,
demonstrated
improvements
symptoms
influencing
differentiation
T
subsets,
decreasing
expression
mediators,
activating
antioxidant
pathways,
enhancing
structure
microbiota.
Furthermore,
advancements
formulation
technology,
such
use
polymer
micelles
responsive
nanoparticles,
have
greatly
improved
bioavailability
efficacy
luteolin.
However,
further
investigation
needed
address
potential
toxicity
luteolin,
particularly
critical

Abstract
Epidemiological
studies
and
animal
models

suggested
a
possible
link
between
gut
microbiota
(GM),
circulating
metabolites,
endometriosis
(EMs)
pathogenesis.
However,
whether
these
associations
are
causal
or
merely
due
to
confounding
factors
remains
unclear.
We
conducted
two-sample
two-step
Mendelian
randomization
(MR)
study
elucidate
the
potential
relationship
GM
EMs,
mediating
role
of
metabolites.
Our
MR
analysis
revealed
that
higher
abundances
class
Negativicutes,
order
Selenomonadales,
as
well
genera
Dialister,
Enterorhabdus,
Eubacterium
xylanophilum
group,
Methanobrevibacter
were
associated
with
an
increased
risk
EMs
(Odds
Ratio
(OR)
range:
1.0019–1.0037).
