Diabetes, a metabolic disease caused by abnormally high levels of blood glucose, has prevalence rate worldwide and causes series complications, including coronary heart disease, stroke, peripheral vascular end-stage renal retinopathy. Small-molecule compounds have been developed as drugs for the treatment diabetes because their oral advantages. Insulin secretagogues are class small-molecule used to treat diabetes, include sulfonylureas, non-sulfonylureas, glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitors, other novel insulin secretagogues. However, many cause different side effects, posing huge challenges drug monotherapy selection. Therefore, use must be improved. This article reviews mechanism, advantages, limitations, potential risks provide future research directions on diabetes.

Investigations into the phenolic constituents of butanolic fraction Crataegus monogyna were optimized using LC-ESI-MS/MS analysis, identifying and quantifying at least 23 fingerprint phytochemical compounds. The major compounds epicatechin (99.916 ± 2.208 mg/g), isoquercetrin (53.31 1.172 chlorogenic acid (47.457 1.010 quinic (37.819 1.406 rutin (29.98 0.740 hesperidin (5.296 0.177 mg/g, detected for first time in C. species), astragalin (1.774 0.020 nicotiflorin (1.482 0.016 mg/g). antioxidant properties lyophilized evaluated DPPH, GOR, ABTS, CUPRAC, reducing power assays, all which demonstrated that there was strong activity. Additionally, neuroprotective effect vitro, showing a potent inhibitory on acetylcholinesterase (AChE) with an IC50 43.65 2.10 µg/mL. antidiabetic investigated through α-amylase inhibition (IC50 = 91.19 0.10 µg/mL), high In addition, extract exhibited significant urease 26.36 0.05 These results suggest Algerian has potential as therapeutic agent managing diabetes complications natural source AChE inhibitors, making it promising subject treatment urease-related conditions. Its concentrations antioxidants, such epicatechin, isoquercetrin, acid, rutin, hesperidin, astragalin, make suitable integration medicine, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food sector.

The application of plant growth regulators is an effective method to enhance flavonoid content in certain fruits; however, there limited research comparing the effects different regulators. This study evaluated impact pre-harvest with melatonin, 24-epibrassinolide, and methyl jasmonate on blueberry fruit. All three increased total polyphenol content, antioxidant capacities, activities key enzymes involved biosynthesis, including flavone synthase, flavanone 3-hydroxylase, flavonol anthocyanidin leucoanthocyanidin reductase. Among these, melatonin exhibited most significant effect. Further comparative analyses showed that 0.5 mM was particularly promoting accumulation flavonols, anthocyanins, flavanones, as well specific compounds such avicularin, astragalin, morin, reynoutrin fruit, whereas 1.0 μM 24-epibrassinolide more enhancing flavones flavanols, quercetin, leucocyanidin, phloretin, epicatechin. In general, resulted a greater enhancement fruit compared jasmonate. highlights distinct these providing valuable insights for production high-quality blueberries.

As cellular senescence, reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulate excessively, causing damage. Flavonoids derived from natural products are known for their antioxidant effects and ability to delay senescence. Previous studies have attempted mitigate senescence using flavonoids sources. However, the detailed mechanisms regulatory targets of some exhibiting not been fully elucidated. Therefore, we screened a library properties. Isoschaftoside, glycosidic flavonoid, significantly reduced ROS levels in senescent cells. It was found that mitochondrial function restored, dependence on glycolysis cells treated with isoschaftoside. Additionally, identified isoschaftoside suppresses by reducing expression
