This
study
offers
a
comprehensive
analysis
of
the
anthropometric
and
nutritional
status
among
Serbian
adults
aged
18-64
years,
using
data
from
EFSA
EU
Menu
food
consumption
survey
conducted
between
2017
2022.
Based
on
nationally
representative
sample
1139
participants,
this
research
utilized
validated
24
h
dietary
recalls
measurements.
The
results
indicate
significant
imbalances,
characterized
by
heavy
reliance
energy-dense
foods,
such
as
grains,
fats,
meat,
with
an
underrepresentation
fruits,
vegetables,
dairy.
Men
exhibited
higher
total
energy
intake,
obtaining
more
meat
while
women
consumed
fruits
vegetables
but
often
did
not
meet
recommended
protein
intake.
Approximately
67.8%
participants
had
insufficient
fiber
15.4%
recommendations,
particularly
women.
Anthropometric
measurements
showed
high
prevalence
overweight
obesity,
especially
men.
These
findings
highlight
critical
deficits
in
adequacy
and,
clinical
practice
perspective,
underscore
necessity
for
formulation
policies,
targeted
public
health
strategies
aimed
at
improving
habits,
provide
evidence
development
national
guidelines
to
support
preventive
healthcare
strategies,
management
diet-related
conditions,
obesity
metabolic
disorders.
