Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels due to insufficient insulin production or resistance. Recently, biomarkers, such as glycated albumin (GA) and methylglyoxal (MGO), have been successfully employed for the management of diabetes its complications. The main goal this study was investigate relationship between parameters, related diabetic conditions, recognition memory, declarative episodic long-term in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced mouse model. longitudinal experimental plan scheduled five timepoints, starting from 9 months lasting until 19 age, included different evaluations: i) fasting serum glucose, GA, MGO, ii) memory performance; iii) histological examinations pancreas hippocampus. At 13 mice were randomly divided into two groups, STZ (50 mg/kg i.p.) vehicle administered 5 consecutive days. Mice fed with normal diet but, 14 months, half them given water (HS) explore potential detrimental effects HS intake hyperglycemia. Our outcomes are follows: alone does not contribute worsened condition/hyperglycemia; GA emerges reliable biomarker monitoring consistently increasing hyperglycemia; conditions correlate worsening memory; iv) display mild-to-severe insulitis injured hippocampal cytoarchitecture, detectable Ammon’s horns regions CA1 CA3; v) correlation among recovered glycemic level partial regaining physiological pancreatic morphology, cytoarchitecture.

Ferroptosis is intricately associated with the pathophysiology processes of myocardial ischemia. Cardamonin (CAR) has been shown to provide significant protection against tissue damage due multiple ischemia/reperfusion. This study aimed examine cardioprotective properties CAR in ischemia/reperfusion injury (MIRI) and insights into possible mechanisms involved.
