The induction of mitochondrial quality control (MQC) mechanisms is essential for the re-establishment homeostasis and cellular bioenergetics during periods stress. Although MQC activation has cardioprotective effects in various cardiovascular diseases, its precise role regulatory alcoholic cardiomyopathy (ACM) remain incompletely understood.

Background and Objectives: Severe early childhood caries (S-ECC) is a chronic infectious disease with multifactorial etiology which has not been completely elucidated. Research on the role of oxidative stress in etiopathogenesis oral diseases suggests that level local antioxidants plays an important determining susceptibility to caries. This study aimed demonstrate host’s redox imbalance, modified by genetic polymorphisms, may influence onset severity S-ECC. Materials Methods: A total 110 patients were included (59 diagnosed S-ECC 51 healthy controls). Upon initial appraisal, DMFT (decayed-missing-filled teeth) index was determined, epithelial cells collected using swabs for genomic DNA extraction. Genotyping SOD2 (rs4880) GPX1 (rs1050450) performed TaqMan SNP genotyping assays real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results: According results present study, there significant difference between frequency reference genotype variants rs4880 (p = 0.0303). Subjects carrying AG GG variant significantly associated high value 0.0005). However, no found genotypes rs1050450, nor association Conclusions: The polymorphism increase preschoolers predispose develop carious lesions, especially when certain feeding practices infrequent toothbrushing. observation emphasizes host sensitivity crucial factor development lesions primary dentition, despite main contributing factors this pathology. rs1050450
