Single-board computers (SBCs) are emerging as an efficient and economical solution for fog edge computing, providing localized big data processing with lower energy consumption. Newer faster SBCs deliver improved performance while still maintaining a compact form factor cost-effectiveness. In recent times, researchers have addressed scheduling issues in Hadoop-based SBC clusters. Despite their potential, traditional Hadoop configurations struggle to optimize heterogeneous clusters due disparities computing resources. Consequently, we propose modifications the mechanism address these challenges. this paper, leverage use of node labels introduced 3+ define Frugality Index that categorizes nodes based on physical capabilities, such CPU, memory, disk space, etc. Next, adaptive configuration policy modifies native fair by dynamically adjusting resource allocation response workload cluster conditions. Furthermore, proposed frugal considers prioritizing reduced tasks maximize parallelism. To evaluate our proposal, construct 13-node conduct empirical evaluation using CPU IO intensive microbenchmarks. The results demonstrate significant improvements compared FIFO capacity schedulers, execution times 56% 22% than best_cap best_fifo scenarios. Our findings underscore effectiveness approach managing nature optimizing across various hardware configurations.
