Apicoectomy versus apical curettage in combination with or without L-PRF application: a randomized clinical trial

This
study
compared
the
efficacy
of
apicoectomy
and
apical
curettage
with
without
leukocyte-
platelet-rich
fibrin
(L-PRF)
in
treating
large
periapical
lesions.
Sixty-four
adults
(30
male,

female)

endodontically
treated
tooth
lesion
were
randomized
into
four
groups

retrograde
obturation

Abstract
Introduction
The
presence
of
an
osseous
cavity
after
cyst
enucleation
is
a
clinical
challenge
that
needs
to
be
considered.
Using
pure
autologous
concentrations
platelets,
platelet-rich
fibrin
(PRF),
as
graft
material
removal
has
shown
promising
effects.
However,
PRF
limitations
in
terms
durability,

usually
resorbs
within
10–14
days,

Objectives
