Objective: To show the effectiveness of goal-oriented proprioceptive training in subacute stroke for balance, autonomy, and fall risk. Methods: Out a total 35 patients, consistent age (75.31±8.65 years), type (ischemic, 3 to 11 weeks before), motor impairment, 18 patients underwent solely rehabilitation, other 17 dual task exercises. The study assessed autonomy using Barthel Index, risk with Timed Up Go Test (TUG), balance through Berg Balance Scale (BBS) Tinetti test. Results: After two months, significant improvements were recorded BBS (p<0.0001), test (p<0.0001 group, p=0.0029 single group), TUG (p=0.0052 p=0.0020 group) both groups. Comparing groups, group showed difference assessment (p=0.0052), between score (p=0.0271), (p=0.0235). Likewise, gait was significantly related (p=0.0536), (p=0.0466), while Index (p=0.0394), (p=0.0219), (p=0.0196). Lastly, there is positive correlation use aids (p=0.0074), (p=0.0160).Conclusion: In stroke, improved but only partially autonomy. Furthermore, after dual-task exercises recovery did not reduced falls.

The most prevalent disorder following a stroke balance disorder, and primary goal rehabilitation treatment these patients to improve balance. Objectives: This study aims compare effects various therapy exercises on performance confidence individuals with stroke. Methods: In this double-blind clinical trial, 30 were randomly assigned one three groups: Control, reactive, proactive. Of these, 27 completed study. Participants underwent 12 sessions over four weeks. control group received conventional exercises, reactive plus proactive exercises. Balance was evaluated using Mini-BESTest activities-specific (ABC) questionnaire at stages: Before treatment, after during two-month follow-up period. Data analysis conducted SPSS version 20. Results: Intra-group indicated significant improvements (F = 64.694; P < 0.001; ηp2 0.729) 76.002; 0.760). At end exhibited better compared group, while demonstrated higher than group. However, differences not statistically (P > 0.05). Conclusions: improved significantly all groups. between groups significant. concludes that exercise an integral component for patients.

This study conducts a comprehensive review of dual-task interventions targeting older adults, which integrate both balance and cognitive tasks using virtual reality (VR) technology. Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review guidelines, we meticulously analyzed 16 selected papers, with particular attention to evidence levels bias risks. Our findings revealed that 10 studies presented as first-level minimal risk. Among dual explored, standing (14 cases) (16 emerged most prevalent. To assess physical intervention effects, researchers utilized 30 assessment tools, Mini-BESTest Timed Up Go being frequently employed. Similarly, 42 tools were utilized, trail making test Stroop common. The highlights various types their associated outcomes, shedding light on potential VR-based enhancing well-being adults. However, future research should focus standardizing parameters exploring long-term effects these maximize effectiveness. By providing evidence-based insights, this contributes development effective fall prevention programs tailored unique needs populations.

Background Over the past decade, there has been extensive research exploring relationship between vascular health and mental well-being, encompassing aspects such as mood cognition. However, is a notable gap in focusing on conditions of minor ischemic stroke or transient attack (TIA) patients, particularly within Thai population. Objectives To investigate clinical characteristics issues related to functions patients who have experienced TIA. This study, approved by Buriram Hospital Ethics Committee (IRB: BR0033.102.1/8), adhered guidelines Helsinki Declaration obtained informed consent from all participants. Methods A prospective cross-sectional study was conducted at Hospital, government regional hospital located province, Thailand, involving twenty-three participants diagnosed with Measurements included characteristics, Anxiety Depression Scale-part (HADS-A), (HADS-D), mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), flow-mediated dilation (FMD), brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV). Linear regression analysis employed factors associated function (FMD baPWV). Results The factor FMD HADS-D (β = -0.5, 95% CI -0.33 -0.04). Factors baPWV age 0.51, 5.05 39.50) duration TIA 0.48, 25.41 290.99). Conclusions shows connection depressive symptoms Therefore, it important detect provide appropriate treatment for these may lead improvements better cerebrovascular outcomes.

Twenty-eight patients diagnosed with by a specialist were divided into experimental groups applying exercise training control sagittal training. The five times sit-to-stand test (FTSST), timed up go (TUG) test, Berg balance scale (BBS) used to evaluate ability, falls efficacy (FES) was modified Barthel index (MBI) living. All evaluations conducted once prior intervention implementation again six weeks after final intervention. In results, group which applied had statistically significant changes FTSST, BBS, FES compared group. conclusion, rehabilitation program, increased patient’s reduced fear falling.

Published: Oct. 2, 2023

Flat foot is a postural deformity in which the plantar part of either completely or partially contacted with ground. In recent clinical practices, X-ray radiographs have been introduced to detect flat feet because they are more affordable many clinics than using specialized devices. This research aims develop an automated model that detects cases and their severity levels from lateral images by measuring three different angles: Arch Angle, Meary's Calcaneal Inclination Angle. Since these angles formed connecting set points on image, Template Matching used allocate potential for each angle, then classifier select highest predicted likelihood be correct point. Inspired literature, this constructed compared two models: Convolutional Neural Network-based Random Forest-based model. These models were trained 8000 tested 240 unseen cases. As result, overall accuracy rate was 93.13% achieved Forest model, mean values all types (normal foot, mild moderate foot) being: 93.38 precision, 92.56 recall, 96.46 specificity, 95.42 accuracy, 92.90 F-Score. The main conclusions deduced are: (1) Using transfer learning (VGG-16) as feature-extractor-only, addition image augmentation, has greatly increased rate. (2) Relying shows accurate estimations single angle.

Introduction With aging, dual task (DT) ability declines and is more cognitively demanding than single tasks. Rapidly declining DT performance regarded as a predictor of neurodegenerative disease. Task training non-invasive transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) are methods applied to optimize the elderly. Methods A systematic search was carried out in PUBMED, TDCS (transcranial direct current stimulation) databases, well Web Science, qualitative analysis conducted 56 included studies. Aiming summarize results studies that implemented tES, training, or combination for improving related changes healthy elderly geriatric patients. For different approaches, procedures, parameters, outcomes were discussed. Results particularly cognitive-motor has notable effects on when compared neuromodulation method. Discussion Anodal (tDCS) over left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (L-DLPFC), its with could be promising tools. However, additional evidence required from aged people patients, further exploration electrode montage.
