Coral’s susceptibility to bleaching is determined by the strength of intricate mutual relationships among coral symbionts. However, there limited knowledge about how symbiotic members scleractinian Echinopora gemmacea respond changes in their surrounding environmental conditions. In this study, we conducted a survey seawater characteristics south and north zones Wuzhizhou (WZZ) Island, measured microalgal density chlorophyll-a content corals, performed metabarcoding Symbiodiniaceae bacteria communities within tissue. Our findings demonstrated that zone WZZ Island had higher levels turbidity, temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen compared zone. This indicated corals two were subjected distinctive Analysis composition revealed Cladocopium sp. C1 C17 dominant species southern E. gemmacea, whereas Durusdinium D1a prevailed northern gemmacea. Consequently, diminished Furthermore, correlation network analysis presence bacterial interactions potentially mediate coral’s adaptation stress. study provides insights into differences members, including bacteria, contributes fundamental for conservation efforts.
