The nearshore zone turns out to be the area with higher concentration of plastic debris and, for this reason, it is important know processes that affect transport and fate type litter. This study focuses on investigating dynamics various types under several hydrodynamic conditions primarily induced by waves. 2D tests were carried at Hydraulic Laboratory University Messina reproducing main phenomena occurred during wave propagation a planar beach. More than 200 different tested changing characteristics, water depth, characteristics (density shape), roughness fixed bottom. In general, can observed reduction in particle displacement occurs due to: i) decrease steepness; ii) an increase depth; iii) size; iv) density. However, experimental investigation shows some bed roughness, even when hydraulically smooth, alter these results. data analysis identified criterion predicting short-term action. determine equilibrium conditions, based empirical relationship, takes into account slope, weight debris.
