Blasting is a widely employed technique for tunnel construction in mountainous regions; however, it often causes damage to the surrounding rock mass, particularly fault fracture zones, which can lead hazards such as rockfalls and collapses. This study examines characteristics of due blasting through zones. Based on an actual project, we conducted finite element analysis using JH-2 material model, taking into account width zone. Results indicate that zone increases, disturbance effect becomes more pronounced. Compared arch bottom waist tunnel, vault primarily absorbs slip deformation compressive forces resulting from disturbances The findings this paper contribute valuable methodology analyzing mechanical mechanisms mountain provide essential theoretical parameters inform design projects.
