Mucormycosis is a highly lethal opportunistic fungal disease caused by ubiquitous molds of the order Mucorales, with Rhizopus, Lichtheimia and Mucor being most common genera. This rare primarily affects immunocompromised patients, presentations ranging from rhino-orbito-cerebral infections to disseminated mucormycosis angioinvasion, leading thrombosis tissue infarction. Gastrointestinal least clinical presentation believed be secondary spore ingestion. It can involve multiple components gastrointestinal tract, such as stomach, liver, ileum, colon, nonspecific manifestations, including pain, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension. The initial may even manifest bleeding due gastric ulceration or intestinal perforation.
