The rising demand for sustainable agriculture has increased interest in fungal biocontrol agents as eco-friendly alternatives to synthetic pesticides. This chapter examines fungi's role pest management through mechanisms like mycoparasitism, resource competition, and insecticidal compound production. Key species, including Beauveria bassiana, Metarhizium anisopliae, Trichoderma spp., effectively control insect pests, nematodes, pathogens, reducing populations enhancing crop yields. Benefits include minimal non-target effects, lower residues, improved soil health, cost efficiency. Field studies demonstrate success crops cotton vegetables. However, challenges such field variability, limited shelf life, regulatory constraints remain. Research on formulations delivery methods is essential wider adoption long-term agricultural sustainability.
