The corticioid fungi are a cosmopolitan group and show rich diversity, growing in the vegetation of boreal, temperate, subtropical, tropical regions. Xylodon daii sp. nov. was found Yunnan Province, China, which suggested here to be new fungal species light their morphology phylogeny. has coriaceous basidiomata with hydnoid hymenophore monomitic hyphal system having generative hyphae clamp connections, ellipsoid subcylindrical basidiospores measuring as 4–5.2 × 2.8–3.5 µm. Sequences ITS nLSU rRNA markers studied samples were generated, phylogenetic analyses performed using maximum likelihood, parsimony, Bayesian inference methods. After series studies, ITS+nLSU analysis order Hymenochaetales indicated that, at generic level, six genera, (i.e., Fasciodontia, Hastodontia, Hyphodontia, Lyomyces, Kneiffiella Xylodon) accommodated members Hyphodontia sensu lato, genus grouped Lyomyces within Hymenochaetales. According further dataset, X. nested into Xylodon, it retrieved sister pseudotropicus.

Four new wood-inhabiting fungi were found in Southwestern China within the genera Phanerochaete, Phlebiopsis, Asterostroma, and Vararia of families Phanerochaetaceae Peniophoraceae, belonging to orders Polyporales Russulales individually. Combined with their morphological characteristics molecular biological evidence, present study describes them as fungal taxa. Asterostroma yunnanense is characterized by resupinate, membranaceous pellicular basidiomata a cream salmon-buff hymenial surface, hyphal system dimitic bearing simple-septa, thin- thick-walled, yellowish brown asterosetae acute tips, thin-walled, echinulate, amyloid, globose basidiospores. Phanerochaete tongbiguanensis resupinate white monomitic simple-septa generative hyphae, presence subclavate cystidia covered lot crystals, oblong ellipsoid basidiospores (6–9 × 3–4.5 µm). Phlebiopsis fissurata membranaceous, tuberculate buff slightly conical cystidia, broadly ellipsoid. yingjiangensis corky pinkish cinnamon-buff cracking, dichohyphae curved subulate gloeocystidia, (6.5–11.5 5–7 The phylogenetic analyses ITS + nLSU revealed that two species nested into family (Polyporales), which was sister P. daliensis; grouped lamprocystidiata. Two clustered Peniophoraceae (Russulales), A. cervicolor; formed single branch.
