Abstract BACKGROUND Owing to the nonavailability of any clear targets for molluscicides against Pomacea canaliculata , target‐based screening strategy cannot be employed. In this study, molluscicidal effects typical pesticides on P. were evaluated obtain molluscicide target. A series arylpyrrole compounds synthesized based discovered target, and their structure–activity relationships explored. preliminary specific was also developed. RESULTS laboratory colony developed, which showed no difference in sensitivity niclosamide compared with wild group, while exhibiting a higher stability pesticide response. Mitochondrial adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthase inhibitors mitochondrial membrane potential uncouplers identified validated as . designed synthesized. The median lethal concentration 4‐bromo‐2‐(4‐chlorophenyl)‐5‐(trifluoromethyl)‐1H‐pyrrole‐3‐carbonitrile (Compound 102) 10‐fold lower than that niclosamide. CONCLUSION New validated, strategies explored these targets. Compound 102 exhibited high activity had great value exploring control © 2024 Society Chemical Industry.
