Abstract Empathy is essential to the development of communication skills. Simulating psychosis develop empathy for mental health patients complex; we hypothesized that virtual reality (VR) would be effective in increasing care students. This experimental study compared effectiveness a VR simulation with traditional hearing voices as measured by Kiersma-Chen Scale-Revised. Twenty-five students were randomized into two groups. The results indicated both simulated experiences increased levels, supporting study’s hypothesis. A 10-minute an teaching strategy developing

Introduction Schizophrenia imposes a significant burden on global public health and is associated with pervasive stigmatization, perpetuating misconceptions of danger incompetence. This review examines the efficacy simulation interventions in reducing stigmas schizophrenia fostering empathy towards affected individuals. Methods A comprehensive literature spanning from August 2021 to September 2022 identified 14 relevant studies meeting inclusion criteria. Results Analysis revealed diverse landscape simulation-based interventions, characterized by variability methodological rigor, intervention design, technological modalities. While some demonstrated promising outcomes stigma reduction enhancement, limitations inconsistencies underscore need for cautious interpretation findings. Furthermore, mixed characteristics development highlight complexity effectiveness. Discussion Despite these challenges, particularly when integrated additional components, hold potential mitigating stigmatization promoting empathy. Future research should prioritize outcome assessment, tailored strategies advance field schizophrenia.
