Background: Sarcopenia has been associated with poor outcomes in pancreatic cancer (PC). However, published results are heterogeneous terms of study design, oncological outcomes, and sarcopenia measurements. This meta-analysis aims to evaluate the impact computed tomography (CT)-based on overall survival (OS) progression-free (PFS) patients PC, considering potential confounders such as CT-based method thresholds used define sarcopenia, well treatment intention. Methods: We systematically searched databases for observational studies reporting hazard ratios (HRs) OS PFS PC stratified by status. Random-effects models were calculate pooled crude adjusted HRs (cHRs aHRs, respectively), subgroup analyses based measurement methods, cutoff values, prevalence, Heterogeneity was assessed using I2 τ2 statistics, publication bias evaluated funnel plots Egger's test. Conclusions: determined CT is an independent predictor this association varies depending its definition Therefore, routine assessment clinical practice could provide valuable prognostic information, future research should focus standardizing methods.

Abstract Purpose Given the high prevalence of vertebral fractures post-radiotherapy in patients with metastatic spine disease, accurate and rapid muscle segmentation could support efforts to quantify muscular changes due disease or treatment enable biomechanical modeling for assessments loading improve personalized evaluation fracture risk. This study presents a deep-learning approach segmenting complete volume trunk muscles from clinical CT images trained using sparsely annotated data. Materials Methods we extracted 2,009 axial at midpoint each level (T4 L4) 148 cancer patients. The key extensor flexor (up 8 per side) were manually contoured labeled image thoracic lumbar regions. We first 2D nnU-Net model on these labels segment muscles. Using sparse annotations spine, muscle’s entire 3D Results proposed method achieved comparable performance manual segmentations, as assessed by expert radiologists, mean Dice score above 0.769. Significantly, drastically reduced time, 4.3-6.5 hours 14 single approximately 1 minute thoracic-abdominal volume. Conclusion demonstrates potential automating segmentation, significantly reducing intervention required generating musculoskeletal models, be instrumental enhancing decision-making patient care radiation oncology. Summary A deep learning model, set annotations, successfully segmented 20 thoracolumbar patients’ showed remarkable increase efficacy generalizability, achieving segmentations delineating anatomy. Key Points ▪ (2D nnU-Net), developed CT-slice mid-per level, containing annotation muscles, Radiologist assessment based Likert scale (0-5) acceptability anatomical strong representative sample data (a (mean(SD) 4.66 (0.73)) external (4.66 (0.73).

Background and Clinical Significance: Sarcopenia, characterized by muscle loss fat infiltration, poses a significant health burden for aging populations. Quantitative Color 2D 3D radiodensitometry provides powerful tool to monitor quality quantity through CT imaging. This study assessed the impact of ten-year-long home-bed gym exercise intervention on in an elderly subject using CT-derived radiodensitometric analysis. The involved two comparative analyses: Study A, which compared knee-to-ankle scans between 2013 2023; B, subject’s 2023 thigh scan with cohort 2500 Icelandic individuals from AGES-Reykjavik study. Case Presentation: A 70-year-old male began home-based Full-Body In-Bed Gym program 2013. volume radiodensity measurements were performed at baseline after ten years. Results: shows improvements observed region, while slower decline was noted, indicating substantial preservation despite expected decay ten-year aging. For instance, increased 15% left Soleus 6% right muscle, average decreased 12–17 HU. 80-years-old is above AGES-Reykjavik’s average, reduced infiltration. Conclusions: Long-term home Gym, low-impact exercise, can mitigate sarcopenia, as evidenced improved tissue mass preservation. suggests potential applications personalized healthcare strategies enhance among
