Objective. To compare the features of stress reactions in patients with osteoarthritis and concomitant cardiac pathology before surgery early period after total hip arthroplasty, depending on type surgical access. Materials methods. The results treatment 90 who underwent arthroplasty using standard posterior approach (group 1) modified 2) were analysed. levels insulin, cortisol, glucose, interleukin–6 tumour necrosis factor–α determined, HOMA index (Homeostasis model assessment) was calculated, pain status function operated joint assessed. Results. Throughout study, intensity remained statistically significantly lower undergoing a approach. values at beginning study same both groups. In case immediately day 1, they than approach, 7 differed almost (p = 0.08), lower. Similar dynamics observed regard to cortisolemia. concentration during first three stages had no differences between groups, this indicator became assessment within days approaches, but month, better. Conclusions. has advantages over pathology.
