Palonosetron, a 5-HT3 receptor blocker, is known to be more effective and longer-lasting in preventing postoperative nausea vomiting (PONV). This study aimed compare the efficacy of palonosetron with other drugs PONV after otorhinolaryngological surgeries. A systematic search randomized clinical trials was conducted using various databases such as Google Scholar, Science Direct, Embase, PubMed. Nine from eight studies were included this meta-analysis. Data extracted for early (0-24 hours) delayed (24-48 PONV. Revman 5.4 software used statistical analysis, random-effects model applied due heterogeneity exceeding 50%. The present meta-analysis results revealed that Palonosetron than drugs, Ondansetron, Dexamethasone, Tropisetron, both phases prevention In phase, demonstrated significantly lower incidence compared drugs. Similarly, maintained its superior antiemetic efficacy, reducing occurrence effectively agents. analysis also showed when these combined, their overall effect not alone prevention. forest plot indicated significant difference favour consistent across multiple despite observed. suggests provides sustained reliable reduction PONV, making it choice patients undergoing Our concluded efficient Tropisetron
