Short video applications have gained increasing prominence as pivotal channels for information acquisition and knowledge dissemination, capturing the attention of scholars. Despite interest in this area, a general investigation factors that facilitate users’ adoption on TikTok remains insufficient. We combine flow experience theory to construct novel theoretical model investigating antecedents intentions within realm short applications. A total 386 data were collected from TikTok’s users analyzed using partial least squares (PLS) approach. The analysis revealed technology affordance (i.e., accuracy, serendipity, perceived ease use) quality influence via experience. Users’ interest-type epistemic curiosity can moderate effect serendipity intentions. This study investigates interactive effects individuals, technology, intentions, offering implications platform administrators, content creators, government agencies understand adoption.
