Urban green spaces have long been cherished as the "lungs of city", it can not only improve air quality and enhance residents' health. The impact urban on pollution health has attracted great attention. In this paper, we select 31 provinces in China research samples use ArcGIS software to draw spatial distribution maps spaces, pollution, China, characterizing their spatiotemporal changes order explore whether there is a correlation among three. On basis, paper utilizes panel data Chinese provincial-level from 2010 2020 conducts empirical tests through two-way fixed effect model threshold regression model. findings are follows: (1) bring environmental benefits, but also benefits greater than benefits. (2) There risk northern significant. Conversely, no southern (3) Although regulations role enhancing may be further weakened economy develops.

In recent decades, there has been a rise in mental illnesses. Community infrastructures are increasingly acknowledged as important for sustaining good health. Moreover, green spaces anticipated to offer advantages both health and social cohesion. However, the mediating pathway between space, cohesion especially proximity characteristics of that trigger these potential effects remain interest. We gathered data from 1365 individuals on self-reported across four satellite districts European cities: Nantes (France), Porto (Portugal), Sofia (Bulgaria), Høje-Taastrup (Denmark). Green space OpenStreetMap was manually adjusted using PRIGSHARE guidelines. used AID-PRIGSHARE tool generate 7 indicators about measured distances 100-1,500 m, every 100 m. This resulted 105 different variables we tested single mediation model with structural equation modelling. Accessible greenness (900-1,400 m), accessible (900-1,500 corridors (300-800 total (300-800), mix uses (700-1,100 m) were significantly associated indirectly also showed negative indirect direct associations larger distances. Surrounding quantity not nor observed no positive any variable distance Our results suggest accessibility, connectivity, use key drive relationship spaces, gives further guidance urban planners decision-makers how design foster improve

Introduction Aging is an inevitable process that leads to changes in various dimensions of older adult life, including physical, psychological, and social aspects. Unfortunately, adults are more susceptible health problems caused by adverse experiences such as the Corona outbreak. Aim The current study examines lived experience facing conditions epidemic see how green spaces at scales can influence physical mental this group. Method Relevant articles published, from 2019 February 17, 2023, were searched using Scopus Web Science databases. Eligible studies published English all passed a quality evaluation. Result In final search, 40 selected analyzed. majority conducted during pandemic categorized impact on into three main categories: Place-based attribute, Process, Function. Conclusion findings demonstrated people private (gardens, balconies, etc.), small local public spaces, sitting gathering neighborhood, nearby open urban green-blue throughout era. They visited outside city areas, gardens, agricultural forestlands, pastures. research, we investigated characteristics these classified them four landscape, land use, activity, movement, accessibility. results showed exposure nature or space improved increased attention decision-making people. We have proposed design implications recommendations for crises improve safety, security, capital increasing safe access diverse high-quality different scales, which will ultimately enhance age groups.

China is experiencing unprecedented urbanization and aging. Previous studies mostly ignored the internal mechanism of effect urban green space on mental health older adults. Consequently, relationship between social participation in spaces remains uncertain. Therefore, this study explored impact spaces, participation, other factors adults investigated mechanisms these effects. This used linear regression models conducted a moderating analysis using data from 2018 Labor Dynamics Survey, comprising 3501 146 cities China. Furthermore, we analyzed differences solitary non-solitary The results indicated that space, road density, physical health, history hospitalization, subjective well-being, economic satisfaction significantly affected health. Social played significant positive role connection among For adults, weakened health; for enhanced These findings could contribute to future construction aging-friendly help optimize strategies building healthy environments.

A growing body of evidence is suggestive for the beneficial role contact with greenspace (e.g., use greenspace, visual access to etc.) on mental health depression, anxiety, etc.). In addition, several studies have pointed out benefits social support and interaction psychological wellbeing. Even if association between perceived were mixed, it was supposed that could enhance interactions support, especially among older adults. The present study aims explore effect geriatric depression in a sample South-Italian adults mediating this association. structural equation model tested 454 (60–90 years old) residing Metropolitan Area Bari, Apulia. fit indices revealed goodness (CFI = 0.934; TLI 0.900; IFI 0.911; NFI 0.935; RMSEA 0.074; SRMR 0.056). Results showed inversely associated through support. These findings underlined relevance pathway linking depressive symptoms. This may be useful policymakers plan interventions promoting physical participation an age-friendly city framework.

Plant-enriched environments, the most common terrestrial landscapes, are usually coded as "green space" in urban studies. To understand how these natural environments can benefit human health, many theories have been developed, such well-known Attention Restoration Theory. Nowadays, more emerging with regard to various and complex health dimensions. In this context, we searched online databases (from 2000 2022) conducted a narrative review aiming introduce relevant concerning psychological (e.g. Perceptual Fluency Account Conditioned Theory), physiological volatile organic compounds environmental microbiomes), behavioural physical activity social contact) perspectives. We also slightly mentioned some limitations directions be considered when using theories. These results may offer general readers insights into value of nature exposure help researchers study design result interpretation.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of incorporating nature-based solutions in urban design, order to create sustainable and resilient cities. Inspired by these events, present study aims at exploring mental health benefits nature exposure during outbreak. Secondarily, we investigate changes use patterns towards green spaces (UGS) blue (UBS) whether extreme conditions, such as a lockdown, can lead an increase people’s appreciation nature. Through online survey, observed that resulted decrease frequency visitation UGS/UBS (p < 0.001). Significant differences were found for exercise 0.001) socialization 0.05) main drivers visiting pre- post-lockdown. Accordingly, rates forests 0.05), playgrounds 0.001), sea differed significantly when comparing two periods. In perception, are important fabric (89%). Our structural equation model indicated had beneficial effect on participants’ Pathways explain relationship between post- lockdown value relatedness, motivation, perceived UGS/UBS. This study aims to explore the impact of timing (day vs. night) and location (green space non-green space) outdoor physical activity on college students’ mental health. We designed a cross-sectional based self-reported data, asking participants recall their health status over past month through questionnaire. Specifically, survey was conducted at university in Chongqing, collecting data indicators (including anxiety, depression, well-being, life satisfaction, happiness, stress) from 418 students (75 females). The questionnaire distributed via an online platform, allowing complete it using either mobile phones or computers. collection took place December 2024. results showed that about half preferred engaging nighttime, with most choosing green spaces. Regression analysis revealed who engaged night had significantly lower anxiety levels compared those during day (mean difference (MD) = −1.015; 95% CI −1.974 −0.055; p 0.038). Additionally, spaces, spaces reported well-being (MD −1.531; −2.480 −0.582; 0.002) subjective happiness −0.462; −0.917 −0.007; 0.047). Sensitivity indicated that, for participated nighttime activities, associated higher 2.025; 0.810 0.324; 0.001) 0.583; 0.026 1.140; 0.040). also slight gender differences; however, findings related females should be interpreted caution due insufficient sample size. Overall, despite some differences time choices, appears associate health, particularly well-being. provides preliminary evidence potential benefits improving offers directions future research this area.
