Healthy watershed environments are essential for socioeconomic sustainability. The long-term monitoring and assessment of ecological provide a timely accurate understanding ecosystem dynamics, informing industry policy adjustments. This study focused on the upper-middle Fen River Basin (UMFRB) in eastern China’s Loess Plateau analyzed spatial temporal characteristics eco-quality from 2000 to 2023 by calculating remote sensing index (RSEI) via Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. In addition, this also explored trends future consistency RSEI, as well impacts natural anthropogenic factors RSEI variations. findings revealed that (1) average value increased 0.51 0.57 over past 24 years, reflecting an overall improvement eco-quality, although urban centers Taiyuan exhibited localized degradation. (2) Hurst was 0.468, indicating anti-consistency, with most regions showing decline or exhibiting stochastic fluctuations. (3) Elevation, temperature, precipitation, slope, land use intensity significantly correlated quality. Natural dominate densely vegetated regions, whereas populated plains. These results valuable guidance formulating targeted restoration measures, protection policies, engineering solutions.

Increasing air pollution, rising carbon emissions, and urban shrinkage pose significant challenges for sustainable development in China. Exploring the relationship between synergy effect of pollution reduction mitigation (SPRCR) can contribute to systematically addressing green development. However, few studies have analyzed all three factors within a unified analytical framework. Therefore, our study takes 288 cities at prefecture level above China as research objects endeavors apply Coupling Coordination Degree (CCD), Multi-scale Geographically Weighted Regression (MGWR), Geodetector (v2.1.0) analyze influence on SPRCR. From analysis, it was demonstrated that (1) general, inhibit an improvement synergistic degree SPRCR, but inhibition is weak. (2) The this shows spatial heterogeneity, with negative impact SPRCR mainly concentrated northeast region. (3) interaction construction land expansion more than other factors, enhancement most obvious. Given regional differences development, provides valuable insights promoting

Land serves as a crucial repository of resource elements, and enhancing the green use efficiency urban land (GUEUL) is essential for attaining sustainable development. Based on 296 cities in China from 2006 to 2022, this study explored relationship between system innovation GUEUL by integrating multi-source data, ArcGIS analysis, EBM-DEA model, DID elucidating temporal trend spatial utilization characteristics China. natural experimental scenario pilot reform China’s construction approval system, finds through in-depth analysis double-difference model that vertical transfer authority has fundamentally optimized development pattern GUEUL, positive impact mainly reflected two dimensions: one hand, it reduces systematic transaction costs, other enhances density industrial agglomeration. Second, lower initial level infrastructure degree dependence finance, more significant decentralization power promotion GUEUL. Currently, undergoing swift phase urbanization industrialization, provides policy support improving comprehensive promoting high-quality region.
