White light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are a new generation of light sources that used in solid-state lighting and information display devices. They generate less thermal radiation than incandescent fluorescent lamps. Phosphor light-emiting (PC-LEDs), which based on this technology, have high luminous efficiency energy efficiency; they compact havу long service life. LED materials subject to such requirements asenvironmental friendliness, transparency the source excitation process, color rendering efficiency. For use LEDs, it is necessary investigate optical properties inorganic doped not only with rare earth elements (due their cost) but also transition metal ions as Mn2+. This review summarizes analyses synthesis, structure, photoluminescent borates MMeBO3, where M = Li, Na, K; Me Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn Mn2+ Bi3+ co-doped metals (Ce3+, Eu3+). Impurity activators, when introduced into compound's lattice, become main luminescent centers phosphors. Processes transfer from sensitizer activator mechanisms discussed. Abstract In order to develop an efficient and stable broadband cyan phosphor for full spectrum white lighting emitting diodes (wLEDs), novel Ba 9 Lu 2 Si 6 O 24 :Eu 2+ , xCa is designed synthesized. Ca‐substitution induces Eu ions into 3+ crystallographic site, which achieve rare nonequivalent cation substitution of . Effects on crystal structure matrix are investigated by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, density functional thoery (DFT). can be effectively excited with near‐ultraviolet (NUV) exhibit emission width at half maximum (FWHM) 119.7 nm x = 0.2, due the multisite luminescence centers. For sample internal quantum efficiency 92.61%, luminous intensity 423 K remains 89% that measured room temperature. The rigid [SiO4]‐[LuO6]‐[SiO4] doped Eu2+ ion makes Ca‐substituted samples excellent thermal stability. Our work develops a significant strategy based regulation explore NUV‐excited phosphors wLEDs.

Lutetium oxyorthosilicate Lu2SiO5 (LSO) and pyrosilicate Lu2Si2O7 (LPS) activated by Ce3+ or Pr3+ are known to be effective fast scintillation materials for the detection of X-rays γ-rays. Their performances can further improved co-doping with aliovalent ions. Herein, we investigate Ce3+(Pr3+) → Ce4+(Pr4+) conversion formation lattice defects stimulated Ca2+ Al3+ in LSO LPS powders prepared solid-state reaction process. The were studied electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), radioluminescence spectroscopy, thermally luminescence (TSL), decays measured. EPR measurements both LSO:Ce LPS:Ce showed Ce4+ conversions co-doping, while effect was less effective. In Pr-doped LPS, a similar Pr4+ not detected EPR, suggesting that charge compensation ions is realized via other impurities and/or defects. X-ray irradiation creates hole centers attributed trapped an oxygen ion neighborhood Ca2+. These contribute intense TSL glow peak at 450–470 K. contrast only weak peaks no visible EPR. decay curves show bi-exponential slow component times 10–13 ns 30–36 ns, respectively. time shows small (6–8%) decrease due co-doping.
