This study examined the ability of a coating made from nano-CeO2-doped montmorillonite (NCM) nanoclay to inhibit corrosion on carbon steel when immersed in 1 M HCl solution. The was produced by combining CeO2 nanoparticles with nanoclay, and its characteristics were analyzed using SEM XRD techniques. inhibition effects assessed through weight loss potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) methods. findings indicated that NCM serves as an effective inhibitor, exhibiting mixed-type behavior impedes both anodic cathodic reactions surface acidic environment. investigation demonstrated achieved remarkable efficiencies 95% (using method) 99% PDP utilized capture images at various phases process for mild steel. employed analyze structural properties coating’s nanoparticles. modified eco-friendly has enhanced resistance environments.

Carbon dioxide corrosion presents a significant challenge in the oil and gas field. This study simulates corrosive environment characteristics of fields to investigate inhibition properties three triphenylmethane dyes. The inhibitive performance mechanisms these dyes were analyzed through weight loss electrochemical testing, revealing that crystal violet (CV) exhibited superior effectiveness over malachite green (MG) Fuchsine basic (FB). At concentration 150 ppm CO2-saturated 5% NaCl solution at 25 °C, CV achieved an impressive maximum efficiency 94.89%. With increase temperature, rate slightly decreased, was 92.94% 60 °C. investigated acted as mixed-type inhibitor its protection obeyed Langmuir adsorption isotherm. morphology characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), confocal laser (CLMS). Quantum chemical calculations molecular dynamics simulations employed validate mechanisms, providing guidance for further application control.
