Groundwater quality is vital for public health, agriculture, and industry, especially in regions like Telangana, India. This study analyses predicts post-monsoon 2020 groundwater using data from the Telangana State Department. We employed Linear Regression Random Forest to predict key parameters: pH Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). Exploratory analysis revealed significant correlations, such as between TDS Electrical Conductivity (E.C). The model performed exceptionally well, with an R 2 of 0.985, while also showed strong results. However, both models exhibited moderate accuracy predicting pH. demonstrates effectiveness machine learning quality, offering valuable tools management. These findings can aid policymakers environmental managers making informed decisions safeguard water resources.

Ensuring access to safe drinking water is a fundamental public health priority. Traditional methods for assessing quality are laborintensive and require specialized equipment, which may not be feasible continuous monitoring. This study explores the use of machine learning models predict potability based on various chemical properties. Specifically, we evaluate performance Logistic Regression Random Forest in presence class imbalance, common issue environmental datasets. To mitigate this, apply Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE). Our results indicate that before applying SMOTE, both exhibited strong bias towards majority (non-potable water), achieving an accuracy 69.36% ROCAUC 0.63. However, application SMOTE significantly improved model’s ability identify potable samples, particularly model, achieved 67.07% 0.64 post-SMOTE. In contrast, model showed decline after suggesting need further optimization or alternative approaches. highlights importance addressing imbalance tasks, especially critical applications like assessment. findings suggest combined with offers robust solution predicting potability. These insights can aid scientists officials implementing more efficient accurate monitoring systems. Future research should explore broader range advanced techniques enhance prediction accuracy.
