The increasing global population has raised concerns about meeting growing food demand. Consequently, the agricultural sector relies heavily on chemical fertilizers to enhance crop production. However, extensive use of can disrupt natural balance soil, causing structural damage and changes in soil microbiota, as well affecting yield quality. Biofertilizers biostimulants derived from microalgae cyanobacteria are promising sustainable alternatives that significantly influence plant growth health owing production diverse biomolecules, such N-fixing enzymes, phytohormones, polysaccharides, soluble amino acids. Despite these benefits, naturally producing high-quality microalgal biomass is challenging various environmental factors. Controlled settings, artificial lighting photobioreactors, allow continuous production, but high capital energy costs impede large-scale biomass. Sustainable methods, wastewater bioremediation biorefinery strategies, potential opportunities overcome challenges. This review comprehensively summarizes growth-promoting activities elucidates mechanisms by which metabolites serve their effects plants, using distinct application methods. Furthermore, it addresses challenges explores strategies for enhancing sustainability biofertilizers.

Alternative solutions to chemical fertilizers that can enhance soil fertility, increase crop yield, promote sustainable agriculture and reduce harmful environmental impacts are urgently required. Microalgal bio-inoculants improve plant growth yet the response of native microbiome microalgal application remains largely unexplored. A pot experiment was conducted assess effects microalgae (a consortium cyanobacteria green microalgae) inoculation on yield chili plant, fertility microbiome. Our results showed significantly enhanced morphometric parameters increased dehydrogenase activity (p < 0.05). Similarly, organic carbon , chlorophyll total polysaccharides nutrients such as nitrogen phosphorus potassium manganese were also 0.05) enriched in treatment groups (50% 100%) compared control. Results microbial diversity, with richness being higher treated soils than Metagenomics analysis revealed a shift bacterial fungal community composition firmicutes, chloroflexi, planctomycetes, proteobacteria, bacillariophyta, basidiomycota glomeromycota dominating microalgal- soils, while actinobacteria, bacteroidetes, streptomycota control soils. The findings suggested bio-inoculation diversity microbiomes, growth, plants.
