Objectives. Oral mucositis (OM) is a common adverse reaction associated with chemotherapy. We conducted six-month longitudinal study to estimate the cumulative incidence of OM during first six months chemotherapy in adult patients cancer other than head and neck cancer. Secondary objectives were as follows: (a) scrutinize oral health status these its evolution chemotherapy, assessed by indices; (b) adherence prescribed hygiene protocol chemotherapy; (c) analyze ulceration-free survival patients. Methods. Sixty-four participated. Dental at baseline end. Every month, blood tests performed lesions recorded. This was observational, only intervention being instruction protocol. The estimated patient unit analysis. A repeated measures ANOVA applied monthly test results. Ulceration-free analysis grouping factor, followed Cox proportional-hazards regression. Results. rate 43.75%, 95%CI (31.58–56.67%) for grade 2 or higher. hazard ratio ulceration 0.154, (0.049–0.483), adjusted age, sex, index, class treatment. Conclusions.
