In recent decades, human actions aimed at maintaining dominance over the earth's natural resources have endangered ecological balance. The irreparable damage caused by oil pollution not only impacts environment but also affects economy and health of living organisms. Therefore, in addition to preventive measures, it is crucial focus on techniques for removing this type pollution. Bioremediation, which involves use microorganisms like bacteria fungi eliminate, decompose, or reduce pollution, offers eco-friendly cost-effective advantages. While organisms from various domains can play a role bioremediation, stand out as promising candidates. Their metabolic abilities enable them breakdown complex molecules, making highly effective degrading stubborn organic matter nature. Fungi, often referred mycoremediators, been more extensively studied bioremediation terrestrial ecosystems compared aquatic environments. This review explores research conducted summarizing findings analyzing progress field past present through bibliometric analysis. results indicate that most studies concentrate isolated soil, with Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium strains being frequently reported. China, Iran, Nigeria published documents subject Scopus database. Utilizing consortium likely yield better than using single strain. Overall, shows promise due their specific characteristics.
