Abstract: The increasing population has subjected rivers and streams to high levels of both industrial domestic pollution. Significant environmental challenges have been brought about by their effects, particularly with regard biota, ecosystem processes, soil quality, groundwater This study examined the effects human activity applying pollution index models evaluate input toxic elements in river sediments. Prior sediment quality analysis, total amount arsenic (As), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), thorium (Th), uranium (U) was determined concentration range 1.09–10.0 mg/kg, 8.53–475 0.12–0.16 4.85–77.5 3.14–5.9 mg/kg 0.93–2.86 respectively. enrichment factor, contamination load index, geo-accumulation revealed alarmingly Pb Hg at some sampling points, which are related possible input, ranging from severe considerable contamination. low ranges indices suggest through natural weathering process atmospheric deposition. Pearson correlation coefficient a significant between Pb-Fe As-Fe, suggesting possibility acid mine Continual monitoring is essential minimize impact sustain health quality.
