This work reviews the contributions of corresponding author (M.M.M.P.) and her research group to Medicinal Chemistry concerning isolation from plant marine sources xanthone derivatives as well their synthesis, biological/pharmacological activities, formulation analytical applications. Although activity has been spread over several chemical families with relevance in Chemistry, main focus investigation family. The contributed libraries xanthones derivatives, such antitumor, anticoagulant, antiplatelet, anti-inflammatory, antimalarial, antimicrobial, hepatoprotective, antioxidant, multidrug resistance reversal effects.
