Free radicals (FRs) are unstable molecules that cause reactive stress (RS), an imbalance between oxygen and nitrogen species in the body its ability to neutralize them. These generated by both internal external factors can damage cellular lipids, proteins, DNA. Antioxidants prevent or slow down oxidation process interrupting transfer of electrons substances agents. This is particularly important at level because reactions lead formation FR contribute various diseases. As we age, RS accumulates leads organ dysfunction age-related disorders. Polyphenols; vitamins A, C, E; selenoproteins possess antioxidant properties may have a role preventing treating certain human diseases associated with RS. Abstract As one of the main sources natural antioxidants, flowering plants play a role in prevention and treatment many diseases directly indirectly. Honey is considered as an important nutrient supply amount which dependent on plant origin geographical location bee feeding place. The existence valuable communities native endemic species has turned Alborz, Zagros Azerbaijan into most hubs honey production Iran. In this study, we collected samples from more than 90 regions during years 2020 to 2021. We evaluated using melissopalynology method measuring antioxidant activity. rise activity abundance some families well botanical origins. Rosaceae, Amaranthaceae, Fabaceae Asteraceae showed higher influence antioxidants other families. Also, Rosaceae increased with increasing altitude. general, shows different percentage under ecological changes.

A greenhouse trial was conducted in Southern Italy to examine the effects of foliar applications two substances, methyl-jasmonate (MeJA) and a zeolite, on harvest post-harvest performance hydroponically grown baby leaf genotypes (leafy chicory ‘Cicoria costa rossa’; kale ‘Cavolo nero’). MeJA is phyto-hormone primarily studied for fruit applications, while zeolite typically used pest disease biological control. (Sigma-Aldrich Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany), commercial (Big-Zeo, Agricola Internazionale s.r.l., Pisa, Italy) (BigZeo) were sprayed twice at second fourth true stages (BigZeo, 5 kg ha−1; MeJA, 250 µM). Bio-physiological (yield, dry matter DM, chlorophyll CHL, weight loss WL) qualitative (nitrate, carotenoids, phenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins, antioxidant activity) traits evaluated both raw fresh-cut (7 day-cold-stored) products. Treatments did not significantly affect yield (1.0 m−2), plant responses substances concerning other genotype-dependent. enhanced greenness (CHL), texture (DM), activity (by increasing carotenoids flavonoids) chicory. In contrast, improved greenness, texture, phenols), reduced nitrate kale. (2.2 g 100 g−1 f.w., average). After 7 days storage, MeJA-treated zeolite-treated exhibited textural nutritional quality.

The yak is a special species that inhabits the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its surrounding areas. Its unique habitat gives milk certain distinct characteristics compared to regular cow milk. Yak not only has high nutritional value but also holds potential benefits for human health. In recent years, there been increasing research attention on Studies have found bioactive components in various functional properties, including antioxidant, anticancer, antibacterial, blood pressure-lowering, anti-fatigue, constipation-relieving effects. However, more evidence needed confirm these functions body. Therefore, by reviewing current status nutrition functionality of milk, we aim reveal enormous as source substances. This article primarily analyzed composition effects components, categorically elucidated mechanisms behind activities, provided brief introduction related products. The analysis and interpretation of data retrieved from Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) assays represent a challenging task. ORAC indexes originate different mathematical approaches often lacking correct elucidation kinetic features concerning radical scavenging reactions by antioxidant compounds. In this work, the expression values as area under fluorescein (FL) decay curves (AUC) lag time are critically compared. This multi-parametric showed extension beyond period for caffeic acid, gallic reduced glutathione quercetin, extending their protection FL. Ethanol delayed reaction both FL compounds with free species generated 2,2′-azobis(2-amidinopropane) dihydrochloride thermolysis. Trolox equivalent values, commonly used to express were more affected differences in kinetics between reference tested when calculated AUC than time. These findings stressed importance choosing calibrator presenting similar samples prevent biased estimation capacity. Additionally, framework proposed here provides sustainable analytical method evaluation capacity, an AGREE score 0.73.

In order to rapidly screen microalgae species as feedstocks for antioxidants, extracts were obtained from 16 strains (under 11 genera, 7 classes) using two methods: a one-step extraction with ethanol/water and three-step fractionating procedure hexane, ethylacetate, water successively. Measuring the total phenol content (TPC), carotenoid (TCC), antioxidant activity of extracts, indicating TPC TCC, played an important role in determining microalgae. A weighted scoring system was used evaluate activity, scores microalgal samples methods calculated same system. Among investigated microalgae, Euglena gracilis SCSIO-46781 had highest score, contributing high followed by Arthrospira platensis SCSIO-44012, Nannochloropsis sp. SCSIO-45224, Phaeodactylum tricornutum SCSIO-45120, SCSIO-45006, respectively. Additionally, above-mentioned five are currently being applied commercial production, this could be effective not only screening but also species/strains strong adaptation environmental stress, which is critical trait their cultivation.
