In a recent study, we used chemical analysis to show that the Caesalpinia mimosoides aqueous extract, which contains high concentration of simple phenolics, has strong anti-influenza activity. We determined through molecular docking methods its potential target inhibitor is neuraminidase. Therefore, our study objectives were evaluate whether aqueous-ethanol extract (30% v/v) this plant species exhibits greater antiviral activity than extract. The C. hydroethanolic exhibited potent antioxidant in DPPH assay, with an IC50 value 15.01 µg/mL, comparable authentic quercetin (IC50 = 12.72 µg/mL) and approximately 4.91 times standard gallic acid 3.06 µg/mL). Through untargeted metabolomic analyses (UPLC-ESI(±)-QTOF-MS/MS) subsequent stepwise computational metabolomics analyses, identified as primarily containing phenolics (e.g., acid, ellagic shikimic chlorogenic acid), flavonoid derivatives quercetin, taxifolin, myricitrin, afzelin), other bioactive components, including dicarboxylic acids germacrone. polyphenol-rich showed activity, 2.33 µg/mL against influenza A/PR/8/34 virus no cytotoxic effects, indicated by CC50 50 µg/mL. As a special woody vegetable, Chinese toon (Toona sinensis) has unique flavor, which is mainly formed by combination of volatile substances. The secretion and storage odorants in plants are often carried out trichomes. Currently, studies on the formation T. sinensis flavor terms biosynthetic processes epidermal trichome morphology scarce. Here, we conducted detailed analysis morphology, structure, distribution trichomes leaves sinensis. We identified three types trichomes: non-glandular, sessile glandular, stalked glandular. found that varies greatly natural populations sinensis, this may be closely related to changes components. In order clarify relationship between secondary metabolism formation, integrated metabolic volatiles with transcriptome discovered two important (Terpene Synthase) TPS genes directly involved terpene synthesis. Through heterologous expression tobacco transient showed can participate synthesis sesquiterpenes, among TsTPS1262 lead elemene Our study provides insights into pathways complex components also basis for breeding applications.
