Curcumin is a natural polyphenol, with different name diferuloylmethane, found in Curcuma longa (turmeric) remarkable antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiangiogenic, and antiplatelet aggregation properties. In recent years, several studies have verified that curcumin may benefit glucolipid metabolic disorders due to its various Glucolipid disorders, major health threats human life, series of diseases the disturbance glucose lipid which are influenced by genetic, environmental, psychiatric, dietary, other factors, including diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, obesity, dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease, atherosclerosis. Here, we discusses effects underlying mechanisms on how alleviate disorders.

Non-antibiotic adjuncts may improve Helicobacter pylori infection control. Our aim was to emphasize curcumin benefits in controlling H. infection. We discussed publications English mostly published since 2020 using keyword search. Curcumin is the main bioactive substance turmeric. inhibited growth, urease activity, three cag genes, and biofilms through dose- strain-dependent activities. also displayed numerous anticancer activities such as apoptosis induction, anti-inflammatory anti-angiogenic effects, caspase-3 upregulation, Bax protein enhancement, p53 gene activation, chemosensitization. Supplementing triple regimens, agent increased eradication success Iranian studies. Bioavailability improved by liposomal preparations, lipid conjugates, electrospray-encapsulation, nano-complexation with proteins. The safe at doses of 0.5->4 g daily, most common (in 16% users) adverse effect being gastrointestinal upset. Notably, favorably influences intestinal microbiota inhibits Clostridioides difficile. Previous reports showed inhibitory on H growth. become an additive therapy infection, adjunct for gastric cancer control, beneficial microbiota. Further examination necessary determine its optimal dosage, synergy antibiotics, supplementation various prophylactic potential.

Since ancient times, turmeric, scientifically known as Curcuma longa, has been renowned for its therapeutic properties. Recently, extensive documentation highlighted the prevalence of microbial diseases without effective treatments, increased expense certain antimicrobial medications, and growing occurrence drug resistance. Experts predict that resistance will emerge a significant global cause death by middle this century, thereby necessitating intervention. Curcumin, major curcuminoid molecule, shown action. Improving altering use natural agents is most approach to addressing issues targeted specificity in chemically synthesized medicines. Chronic pruritus, or persistent itching, is a debilitating condition that severely impacts quality of life, especially in palliative care settings. Traditional treatments often fail to provide adequate relief are associated with significant side effects, prompting interest alternative therapies. This review investigates the antipruritic potential eight medicinal plants: chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis), calendula (Calendula officinalis), curcumin (Curcuma longa), lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra), peppermint (Mentha piperita), and evening primrose (Oenothera biennis). These plants analyzed for their traditional applications, active bioactive compounds, mechanisms action, clinical evidence, usage, dosage, safety profiles. Comprehensive searches were conducted databases including PubMed, Web Science, Scopus, b-on, focusing on vitro, animal, studies using keywords like “plant”, “extract”, “pruritus”. Studies included regardless publication date limited English-language articles. Findings indicate compounds such as polysaccharides vera, curcuminoids turmeric, menthol exhibit anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immune-modulating properties. Chamomile alleviate itching through anti-inflammatory skin-soothing while offer antimicrobial benefits alongside relief. Evening primrose, rich gamma-linolenic acid, effective atopic dermatitis-related itching. Despite promising preclinical results, challenges remain standardizing dosages formulations. The highlights necessity further trials ensure efficacy safety, advocating integrating these botanical therapies into complementary practices. Such approaches emphasize holistic treatment, addressing chronic pruritus’s physical emotional burden, thereby enhancing patient well-being.
