Viola yedoensis Makino (V. yedoensis), a perennial herb in the Violaceae family, is recognized for its violet flowers and has longstanding role ethnomedicine treating various inflammatory diseases, such as boils, furuncles, carbuncles, both acute chronic hepatitis, among others. A comprehensive literature review was conducted utilizing resources including Chinese Pharmacopoeia, Flora of China, Web Science, PubMed, Baidu Scholar, Google China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). This paper serves inaugural latest findings regarding botany, traditional applications, phytochemistry, pharmacological properties, quality control, prospective uses V. yedoensis. The objective to provide robust foundation future research suggest novel avenues exploring potential applications. To date, 162 chemical constituents have been isolated from yedoensis, with flavonoids coumarins identified particularly abundant. These compounds exhibit promising activities, anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic, anti-viral, anti-tumor, anti-lung injury, anti-liver anti-bacterial, anti-coagulant, anti-complement, anti-oxidant properties. Despite considerable advancements fundamental on further investigations are required elucidate underlying mechanisms action discover additional uncharacterized compounds. underscores plant’s significant development potential, highlighting necessity more in-depth exploration.

Metabolic cancers are defined by metabolic reprogramming. Although this reprograming drives rapid tumour growth and invasion, it also reveals specific vulnerabilities that can be therapeutically exploited in cancer therapy. A novel form of programmed cell death, known as disulfidptosis, was identified last year; cells with high SLC7A11 expression undergo disulfidptosis when deprived glucose. Natural products have attracted increasing attention shown potential to treat through diverse mechanisms.

Perilla frutescens (L.) Britt. is a traditional medicinal and culinary plant with long history of cultivation significant potential for broader utilization. The basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) gene family essential regulating growth, development, stress responses, secondary metabolism. However, the bHLH in P. has not yet been characterized. In this study, total 205 genes were identified through genome mining analysis. Phylogenetic analysis classified these PfbHLH into 23 distinct subfamilies. Promoter revealed an enrichment cis-acting elements linked to hormone signaling suggesting their regulatory roles adaptation. Expression profiling based on publicly available RNA-seq data demonstrated tissue-specific expression patterns roots, stems, leaves. Four (PfbHLH66, PfbHLH45, PfbHLH13, PfbHLH5) showed responses methyl jasmonate (MeJA) induction. Yeast one-hybrid assays confirmed that proteins could bind G-box (CACGTG) element. This study offers new perspectives evolution, mechanisms, functional frutescens. findings deepen our understanding diversity within establish foundation genetic enhancement biosynthesis compounds species.
