Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa poses a significant clinical challenge due to the pathogen's robust biofilm formation and resistance mechanisms. Chlorhexidine (CHX), commonly used antiseptic, has shown potential in inhibition, though its exact mechanism remains unclear. Our previous work focusing on quorum sensing associated proteins identified strong CHX binding PslG, key protein Psl pathway. However, for interac

Endocyn is a root canal irrigant with stable formulation of hypochlorous acid (HOCl), and should have significant antimicrobial effects. However, there are no available studies that evaluate these effects on different types bacterial species. In this prospective in vitro study, species were grown without the addition to measure Gram-positive bacteria Actinomyces naeslundii, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Streptococcus gordonii, mutans, as well Gram-negative Porphyromonas gingivalis, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Veillonella parvula. Turbidity was measured at 24 h, differences between baseline experimental treatments using two-tailed Student’s t-tests verified ANOVA. inhibited range −8.2% −35.5%, p = 0.14 0.004, while −16.7% −41.4%, 0.04 0.001, which similar 5% NaOCl (bleach). These data demonstrated somewhat resistant lower levels but all higher concentrations, susceptible levels, increased concentrations. results provide clinically relevant regarding efficacy disinfectant against common oral pathogens (and commensal bacteria), important they evidence public health environmental safety clinical protocols endodontic hygiene.
