Abstract Graphitic carbon nitride (g–C 3 N 4 ), an organic photocatalyst was reported to have beneficial properties be used in wastewater treatment applications. However, g–C , its bulk form found poor photocatalytic degradation efficiency due inherent limitations such as specific surface area and fast electron–hole pair recombination rate. In this study, we tuned the physiochemical of by direct thermal exfoliation (TE–g–C ) examined their against abundant textile dyes methylene blue (MB), methyl orange (MO), rhodamine B (RhB). The efficiencies for MB, MO, RhB are 92 ± 0.18%, 93 0.31%, 95 0.4% respectively 60 min UV light irradiation. increased with increase temperature. prepared catalysts were characterized using FTIR, XRD, FE-SEM, EDAX, BET, UV-DRS. Abstract Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is a highly persistent organic pollutant of global concern. A novel nanocomposite composed ZnO nanoparticles and citric acid-modified g-C 3 N 4 was synthesized by ball milling process. The more efficient than pure ball-milled for PFOA elimination under visible light irradiation. optimal hybrid photocatalyst, produced the addition 5 wt% , demonstrated significantly better performance removal UV irradiation, with apparent rate constants 0.468 h −1 0.097 respectively. peroxymonosulfate (0.53 g L ) increased removal, clarifying crucial effect sulfate radicals on photodegradation. In comparison, not effective even peroxymonosulfate. Further experiments dark conditions identified surface adsorption photocatalyst as key process in total removal. summary, ZnO@citric graphitic carbon nitride nanocomposites due to combined action from photodegradation, dominating mechanism.

Currently, the synthesis of active photocatalysts for evolution hydrogen, including based on graphite-like carbon nitride, is an acute issue. In this review, a comprehensive analysis state-of-the-art studies graphic nitride as photocatalyst hydrogen production under visible light presented. various approaches to g-C3N4 reported in literature were considered, methods modifying and improving structural photocatalytic properties material. A thorough has shown that most commonly used are alterations textural characteristics by introducing templates, pore formers or pre-treatment method, doping with heteroatoms, modification metals, creation composite photocatalysts. Next, authors considered their own detailed study graphitic different pre-treatments respective demonstrate high efficiency stability hydrogen. Particular attention was paid describing effect state platinum cocatalyst activity resulting photocatalyst. The decisive factors leading materials discussed.
