Carbon dots (CDs) have garnered attention for their potential applications across diverse fields. This is attributed to characteristics, which include abundant raw material sources, uncomplicated surface modification, cost-effectiveness, excellent fluorescence, low toxicity, and biocompatibility. In this review, we introduced the top-down bottom-up synthesis techniques of CDs. Then, discuss physical, chemical, optical features focus on in environmental analysis, including metal ion sensing, contaminants detection, photocatalysts, other aspect. We presented conclusions future perspectives challenges The review will provide insights into evolving landscape CD research its pivotal role advancing analytical techniques.

Rice cultivated in cadmium (Cd)-polluted acidic paddy soil poses important health risks China. Mitigating Cd accumulation rice is of crucial importance for food safety and human health. In this study, using Chuangliangyou 669 as the ratoon variety, a field experiment was conducted fields with severe pollution (Cd concentration > 1.0 mg kg−1). The aim to explore impacts different nitrogen (N) fertilizer levels (N1-180 kg hm−2, N2-153 N3-126 hm−2) planting densities (D1-20 cm × 20 cm, D2-16.7 16.7 cm) main crop on yield characteristics rice. results showed that reducing amount N would lead decrease rice, while increasing density could increase yield, mainly by effective panicle. Among various combined treatments, yields N1M2 N2M2 were relatively high. had no significant impact concentration, translocation factor bioaccumulation tissues decreased significantly reduction application. Reducing application pH, reduce available consequently from roots stems brown Considering both optimal treatment density, which maintain high concentration.
