Soybeans are one of the most used alternative dietary ingredients in aquafeeds. However, they contain phytoestrogens like genistein (GE), which can have an impact on fish metabolism and health. This study aimed to investigate vitro vivo effects GE lipid metabolism, apoptosis, autophagy rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Primary cultured preadipocytes were incubated with at different concentrations, 10 or 100 μM, 1 μM 17β-estradiol (E2). Furthermore, juveniles received intraperitoneal injection 5 50 µg/g body weight, E2 µg/g. In vitro, increased accumulation reduced cell viability, apparently involving autophagic process, indicated by higher LC3-II protein levels, lc3b cathepsin d transcript levels achieved after μM. vivo, upregulated gene expression fatty acid synthase (fas) glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase adipose tissue, suggesting enhanced lipogenesis, whereas it hormone-sensitive lipase liver, indicating a lipolytic response. Besides, autophagy-related genes tissues analyzed mainly treatment. Overall, these findings suggest that elevated administration could lead impaired adipocyte viability dysregulation trout.

Metabolic diseases, such as diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), have several negative health outcomes on affected humans. Dysregulated energy metabolism is a key component underlying the pathophysiology of these conditions. Adipose tissue fundamental regulator homeostasis that utilizes redox reactions to carry out metabolism. Brown beige adipose tissues, in particular, perform highly oxidative during non-shivering thermogenesis dissipate heat. The appropriate regulation then requires coordinated antioxidant mechanisms counterbalance oxidation reactions. Indeed, activation can cause striking changes concentrations both oxidants antioxidants order adapt various environments. Current therapeutic options for metabolic diseases either translate poorly from rodent models humans (in part due challenges creating physiologically relevant model) or tend numerous side effects, necessitating novel therapies. As increased brown activity results enhanced expenditure associated with beneficial effects health, decreased obesity, it has gathered great interest modulator disease. One potential reason may be although enormously oxidative, also oxidant formation after its activation. However, targeting specifically alter remains an underexplored area. Therefore, this review will discuss role homeostasis, adults, serve targets
