Trace elements are micronutrients that required in very small quantities through diet but crucial for the prevention of acute and chronic diseases. Despite fact initial studies demonstrated inverse associations between some most important essential trace (Zn, Cu, Se, Mn) cardiovascular disease, several recent have reported a direct association with risk factors due to these can act as both antioxidants pro-oxidants, depending on factors. This study aims investigate plasma urine concentrations general population from Mediterranean region, including 484 men women aged 18−80 years considering individually joint exposure. Zn, Mn were determined using an inductively coupled mass spectrometer (ICP-MS). Single combined analysis lipid, blood pressure, diabetes, anthropometric variables was undertaken. Principal component analysis, quantile-based g-computation, calculation element scores (TERS) used analyses. Models adjusted covariates. In single models, we found statistically significant Se increased total cholesterol systolic pressure; Cu triglycerides body index; Zn glucose. Moreover, exposure quantile g-computation TERS, levels (directly), (inversely) strongly associated hypercholesterolemia (OR: 2.03; 95%CI: 1.37−2.99; p < 0.001 per quartile increase approach). The mixtures revealed relationship fasting glucose diabetes 1.91; 1.01−3.04; = 0.046). conclusion, this population, effect higher (primarily Zn) directly elevated lipids, whereas mixture primarily Both parameters relevant factors, exposures should be considered caution.

Food fortification is a crucial public health intervention aimed at addressing nutrient deficiencies and improving overall outcomes. There need in diet enhancement as macronutrient micronutrient deficiency can lead to malnutrition the long run. Young adults are budding future of community their perception on food its adaptation help policy makers generate better ways implement it. This review article presents findings from qualitative exploration awareness regarding among students private college Bhubaneswar, Odisha through an academic program. Through focus group discussions (FGDs), we investigated students' (medical engineering) understanding advantages disadvantages fortification. Among medical students, 50% were aware about fortification, 40% favour it only 10% had misconception Whereas, engineering 72.2% aware, 45.45% none any or myth related To create promote fortified food, suggested ideas than students. analysis revealed insights into perceptions, knowledge gaps, potential strategies for enhancing promoting adoption foods.
