Background/Objectives:
Dietary
supplements
are
associated
with
general
well-being.
However,
there
is
a
growing
concern
about
health
risks
from
unlabeled
harmful
substances,
contaminants,
or
their
interactions

the
consumption
of
dietary
supplements
has
grown
worldwide,
particularly
in
developed
regions.
However,
this
growing
market
also
become
a
prime
target
for
adulteration
practices,
with
some
manufacturers
illegally
adding
pharmaceuticals
into
plant-based
food
(PFS)
to
enhance
their
effects.
While
extensive
research
focused
on
detecting
adulterant
drugs
PFS
tailored
improving
sexual
performance,
weight
loss,
and
muscle
building,
less
attention
been
given
intended
mood
enhancement,
sleep
aid,
cognitive
function
(nootropics).
Nonetheless,
reports
indicate
an
increasing
level
within
group
PFS.
Therefore,
review
aims
at
providing
comprehensive
overview
brain
health,
focus
analytical
techniques
utilized
detection
while
presenting
data
patterns
prevalence
reported
adulterants.
Considering
that
such
fraudulent
practices
primarily
relies
chromatographic
coupled
mass
spectrometry
(MS),
developments
field
comprising
either
targeted
or
untargeted
analysis
pharmaceutical
adulterants
are
