Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that currently top priority for global health. Commonly offered anti-hypertensive pharmacological therapies such as ACE-inhibitors are known to have side effects in long-term use, unlike herbal glucomannan, which has been used treatment patients with type 2 diabetes. The purpose of this study was see what effect applying glucomannan supplements 6 hours had on blood pressure parameters obtained from the wistar rat subjects who hypertension. Twenty five male Wistar rats normal systolic (sBP) ± 110 mmHg were involved study; they received 10% high salt diet 14 days. They divided into 4 groups: positive control group G1 captopril at 25 mg/kg body weight and groups G2 50 mg KGM. Blood measurement using sphygmonanometers diastolic (dBP) exclusion criterion study. Data analysis done paired sample t-test. each decreased after intervention, but most significant results G5 100 bb. In conclusion, Glucomannan can lower pressure; potential same red ginger, modulates production angiotensin-corventing enzymes.

Introduction: Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) improve lipid profile and prevent coronary artery disease. Searching for nutrition based on local foods that might raise the body's SCFA levels is imperative. Porang (Amorphophallus muelleri) a plant with high concentration of glucomannan investigated to have healthy benefit. This study aimed investigate effect from (A.muelleri) in Wistar rats high-fat, high-fructose diet. Methods: was an experimental randomized post-test-only control group design. Thirty male were divided into five groups: normal group, negative given diet, treatment groups 25mg, 50mg, or 100mg/200gBW. Twenty-eight days after intervention, level measured using gas chromatography–masstry (GC/MS). Data analyzed SPSS.Results: The 50 mg/200gBW has highest mean (3.98±0.83 nmol/ml) compared (1.56±0.24), (2.18±0.45), 25mg/200gBW (1.81±0.26), 100mg/200gBW (2.58±0.38). Kruskal Wallis test showed significant differences among (p<0.001). Post hoc revealed mg significantly higher than group. Conclusion: Glucomannan at doses improves short-chain acid high-fat diets.
