Background: Excessive consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) is linked to various health risks, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. University students are particularly vulnerable due lifestyle factors high patterns. Objective: This cross-sectional survey examined SSB patterns, sugar intake, awareness risks among Kuwait students. Methods: Statistical analyses, chi-square tests logistic regression models, were conducted using SPSS. Results: Findings revealed a prevalence consumption, with significant associations between intake levels demographic characteristics. Regular soda was the most consumed SSB, 42% drinking it 5–6 times per week 32% consuming daily. The median daily from alone 38 g, approaching or exceeding recommended limits. Overall, 34% classified as high-sugar consumers. Males had higher total while females SSBs more frequently. Greater associated lower such obesity (OR = 0.142, 95% CI 0.046–0.435, p < 0.001), whereas who aware content in preferred unsweetened fruit juices significantly 0.653, 0.435–0.980, 0.040; OR 0.447, 0.295, 0.675; 0.001, respectively). Conclusions: findings underscore urgent need for targeted interventions—such educational campaigns policy measures—to reduce promote healthier dietary habits young adults Kuwait.

ABSTRACT Oat ( Avena sativa ) is a health‐promoting food exhibiting prebiotic properties. We invented oat‐based postbiotics (Oat_PB) fermented with probiotics (mainly Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium comprehensively compared their chemical constitutions the synbiotic form (Oat_SB). Oat_PB accumulated β ‐glucan, avenanthramides (2c, 2p, 2f) as well free amino acids, for example, threonine, valine, arginine, aspartate, citrulline, taurine, while reducing total phenol, flavone, protein. enriched metabolites affecting lipid glucose metabolism. Probiotics‐derived oat foods mitigated high‐sucrose‐induced obesity, liver injury, repaired metabolism in rats, showing most pronounced effects. reversed high‐sucrose disturbed hepatic fatty acid profiles, regulated genes proteins involved homeostasis. ameliorated gut dysbacteriosis by increasing Alloprevotella , Prevotella Akkermansia inhibiting harmful bacteria. Collectively, our study demonstrates additional value of probiotic‐derived beyond raw materials preventing metabolic homeostasis dysbacteriosis.

ABSTRACT Reducing sugar consumption is a global need, especially given its relationship with the increase of chronic non‐communicable diseases. The Brazilian industry has used apple juice as substitute for added in fruit beverages. This study aimed to elucidate whether and what extent can be reduced without affecting sweetness perception acceptance, thus providing new insights developing products ingredient. Two studies were conducted, both adults children. First, five sequential difference thresholds reducing into mixed grape nectar estimated concentrations that could by 50 second evaluated consumers' liking sensory characteristics using Check‐All‐That‐Apply test thresholds, 120 110 results indicated it was possible reduce while keeping an adequate acceptance.
