General food frequency questionnaires (FFQs) have not been tailored for or validated in individuals with psychiatric disorders. Given the unique eating behaviors of patients serious mental illnesses (SMIs), custom-made tools are needed. Therefore, we developed and an FFQ customized to SMIs. A total 150 adults SMIs (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression) were recruited from Bahrain. The participants completed 50-item Dietary Intake Evaluation Questionnaire Serious Mental Illness (DIETQ-SMI) a 3-day record (FR). validity was assessed by comparing nutrient intake FR using correlation reliability statistics. DIETQ-SMI demonstrated good ranking compared based on coefficients (rho 0.33 0.92) energy macro- micronutrients. had high internal consistency (McDonald’s omega = 0.84; Cronbach’s alpha 0.91) test–retest (ICC > 0.90). tended estimate higher absolute intakes than but adequately ranked intakes. value correlated all items (p < 0.001). is valid reliable dietary SMI. It can help assess nutritional status and, subsequently, guide interventions high-risk populations.

This review examined role hormones, specifically serotonin, in sustaining loss post-LSG. A systematic evaluation six research articles obtained from Scopus, PubMed, Cochrane was conducted, focusing on serotonin maintenance. We included randomized controlled trials involving adults over 18 years. Studies lacking an intensive regulation approach were excluded. Information systematically extracted analyzed selected studies, data intervention control groups summarized tables to compare outcomes one year The findings revealed a complex interplay between its after gastrectomy. While some studies demonstrated successful intervention, found no association Factors beyond levels, including individual motivation, behavioral strategies, physical activity, identified crucial contributors sustained results may not demonstrate recognizable maintenance, significance lies contribution existing body knowledge. By synthesizing current evidence, study adds nuanced perspective understanding factors influencing post-LSG outcomes.
