ABSTRACT Issue Addressed To understand community and stakeholder perceptions of food supply chains in regional remote Western Australia (WA). Methods This qualitative study used 19 focus groups with 61 system stakeholders 31 members to barriers enablers perspectives what good look like. A thematic analysis group transcripts was conducted. Results Barriers included regulatory hurdles, lack local facilities, limited delivery, high costs skill‐sharing. Enablers employment options, individual processing skills, quality food, awareness emergency relief. Participants envisioned a sustainable, affordable, adaptable efficient chain access, literacy, home growing, culturally appropriate strong actor relationships, waste management career opportunities. Conclusions Implications Recommendations include establishing Food Action Groups (also known as Policy Councils) WA, facilitate more opportunities for regionally‐produced be sold within WA communities increase availability, reduce price; enhance literacy schools, workplaces using evidence‐based programs. So what? article provides lived experience supply, illuminating key issues across each step the chain.
