Objective This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAPs) regarding iodine deficiency among population of Kyrgyzstan, with a focus on pregnant women, correlate these factors urinary concentration (UIC). Methods A cross-sectional was conducted using structured questionnaires urine sample analysis evaluate status. multistage stratified sampling method ensured representative from both urban rural areas. Descriptive statistics were used summarize demographic characteristics KAP variables, whereas chi-square tests multivariate logistic regression identify predictors outcomes. Results The included 690 participants, balanced representation mean knowledge score moderate, significant gaps in understanding deficiency. participants generally had positive attitudes toward intake but exhibited suboptimal practices, especially Pregnant women demonstrated greater fewer practical behaviors related intake. Compared higher UIC levels, indicating better nutrition. Multivariate revealed that residence, significantly influenced levels. Conclusion Despite existing iodization programs, remain intake, particularly highlights need for targeted public health interventions improve nutrition reduce burden disorders Kyrgyzstan. Enhancing education, improving accessibility affordability iodized salt, regularly monitoring status are essential strategies addressing issues.
