This study aims to identify key areas of consumer involvement in reducing food waste the service sector, with particular emphasis on use mobile applications. The article presents theoretical considerations alongside a quantitative analysis studied issue, based survey conducted April 2024 using CAWI method among 301 residents Podkarpackie region. empirical section focuses assessing engagement reduction at establishments through two well-known platforms available Polish market: Too Good To Go and Foodsi, which allow users purchase unsold reduced price end day. findings indicate that awareness utilization such solutions are moderate respondents, particularly concerning Foodsi app. No significant differences were observed app usage gender or age. However, women showed higher tendency request their uneaten meals be packaged when dining out. Overall, only one four respondents reported always asking for leftovers packed restaurants. In this context, authors suggest social campaigns, along educational communication initiatives, should implemented encourage both consumers employees adopt habit packaging establishments.
